In the world of Meniere's, consistency creates security.
We create a safe place within all of the stuff we can't control by taking consistent action on what we can control.
Stress goes down when you respond the same way every time to it and create new beliefs. You make new thought habits.
All negative thinking is a sentence or a belief that we've repeated enough times to ourselves that our emotions respond to it as if it were a fact.
If we say sad things to ourselves, we feel sad. Or anxious. Or lonely.
To change these dark emotions, you change the sentence that triggers them until new emotions come.
This is the life cycle of a negative thought:
A. The negative thought seems real and we are harassed by it.
B. We become aware of it, and change the sentence.
C. We use the new sentence every time the negative thought pops up, until it becomes a habit.
D. Old emotions triggered by the negative thought change to new emotions in response to our new sentence.
Once you change one pattern of negative thinking, you know that our emotions follow what we say to ourselves most often, because you've experienced the cycle.
What we're able to accomplish comes from how we feel about our ability to make positive change.
Our mind is a mechanism, and we are the programmers.
P.S. If you like the idea of replacing old BS with new empowerment, the 90 Days to Resiliency program is starting just after the Holidays.
